Founded in 1945 by Norman Tennett, Tennett Tree Service built its reputation working with utility companies on complex projects while proudly serving local residential and commercial customers.
In 1976, ownership passed to Prescott and Bernice Baxter. Prescott (“Pep”), who began his career with Tennett in 1951, led the company through its largest period of growth—expanding utility partnerships and strengthening our presence in both residential and commercial tree care.
Today, all operations are overseen by General Manager Tony Wilber, who joined Tennett in 1981 and, like Pep, is a Connecticut-licensed arborist.
For over 80 years, Tennett has been committed to safety, quality, and exceptional customer service. We take great pride in our long history and look forward to continuing to serve our community and beyond for generations to come.
The company has grown considerably since 1945. Many of Tennett's 30+ employees have 30+ years of experience in tree work with Tennett.
Our expertise in tree care and dedication to safety and customer satisfaction have led us to become a contractor for many clients throughout Connecticut, including utilities, several municipalities and local residential work.
